Position Description

America Votes New Hampshire is seeking a well-organized self-starter for a new position as the Digital Communications Director. This person will be responsible for developing and coordinating digital communications campaigns with both an issue-based and electoral focus. This person will work with the America Votes NH coalition and will be responsible for coordinating a shared digital strategy with a coalition of partners to advance electoral programs and healthy democracy programs focused on voting rights, training coalition members on the latest and most effective digital campaign tactics, and provide on-the-ground technical support to coalition partners. The position works directly with the America Votes team in New Hampshire, as well as dozens of progressive partners and allies with the state’s progressive movement. This position reports directly to the New Hampshire state director.

Location

This position is based in Concord, NH.

Responsibilities

With support from the America Votes NH team, lead and coordinate a coalition of partners to advance legislative and electoral campaign programs with a clear focus on digital communications.
Develop and support the execution of multi-tactic communications campaigns focused on digital engagement with target audiences around the state.
Work within the progressive issue movement and across the organization to identify digital opportunities to grow engagement and make recommendations on incorporating into existing projects.
Able to turn social listening into insights for stakeholders.
Work with the AV coalition to draft and disseminate creative and engaging content into various conversations spaces online, including but not limited to: Facebook groups, messaging platforms, Twitter, blogs, and via SMS.
Consistently develop and coordinate the dissemination of digital content including utilizing video, social and digital design tools to create visually appealing content that will be shared across multiple online channels.
Evaluate and suggest testing strategies to get the most out of each digital initiative.
Develop system for tracking metrics, for both grant deliverables success and message penetration.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in a digital role, ideally in a campaign or in-house, non-profit setting.
Demonstrated ability to build consensus, negotiate, and strategically disagree within a highly collaborative work environment; ability to be respected by progressive stakeholders.
Ability to build strong relationships quickly; experience facilitating and working within broad and diverse coalitions.
Experience professionally generating content, driving strategy and generating analysis and digital recommendations.
Excellent time management skills, with attention to detail.
Actively follows current events and keeps up-to-date with critical issues in the progressive space.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing progressive values.
Ability to work independently and to drive and manage own workload; ability to manage multiple multi-stage projects concurrently and prioritize work effectively.
Ability to travel within the state (as needed); ability to work sometimes long, irregular hours, especially during the peak months of the electoral cycle. Must be a self-starter.

Preferred

Knowledge of and experience with coalition management and/or independent expenditure political campaigns.
Familiarity with campaign and/or organizing metrics.

Compensation

The salary for this position will be between $60,000 and $70,000 and depend upon the applicant’s experience. Benefits for this position include health, dental and vision insurance as well as a 401(K) and paid vacation, sick days.
