Data and Targeting Manager

PICO National Network is a grassroots, faith-based community organization made up of 42 federations and 18 statewide networks. PICO seeks to transform communities, states and our nation by training grassroots leaders to advocate on their own behalf on a pro-family economic agenda. PICO is organizing a strategic faith voice across this country that advocates on racial and economic justice issues such as health care, immigration reform, mass incarceration, affordable housing, and revenue.
The Data and Targeting Manager will work with staff across the organization to implement the integration and use of data to make good strategic decisions in organizing and in planning and executing powerful civic engagement programs. The Data and Targeting Manager will report to the National Data and Targeting Director and will partner with PICO National Campaigns and PICO Federations as assigned including in the Northeast and Southeast.
Campaigns Support, Metrics & Reporting
Supports all campaign metrics and progress to goal reporting for internal analysis and evaluation.
Leads, supports and trains on data collection, data entry/importing, extraction, and production of accurate reports in VAN (MyVoters and MyCampaigns).
Works with communications, policy, and organizing staff to support strategic campaign plans, contact programs, and outreach efforts for both civic engagement and policy change campaigns.
National Staff & Federation Support:
Trains PICO National and federation staff and leaders on: VAN and other tools, targeting and voter contact techniques, and best practices for using data effectively. Administers VAN and tools with the support of the National Data Director.
In collaboration with National Data and Targeting Director, supports development of Data Organizers Cohort and the adoption and use of MyCampaign.
Produces reports summarizing data sets and changes to the data sets.
Generates program analysis and makes strategic recommendations for program improvements.
Creates and maintains training documents and materials for network wide use.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
At least 2-3 years of data management experience in c3 and/or c4 community organizing, civic engagement organizing, labor organizing, or political campaigns including a general understanding of director voter contact programs.
Ability to manage and prioritize several tasks/projects concurrently and work effectively either independently and in close collaboration with others.
Strong VAN, and Excel skills required. Access, SQL or additional programming languages, and mapping software experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively, including experience training and presenting on VAN. Abnormal attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and provide simple reporting and visualization.
Experience working with diverse communities and Spanish skills a plus.
Must be willing to travel.
Location: Preferred Northeast
